About Us

At the Newark Support Group, we have talks by the Professionals, Consultants and Diabetic Specialist Nurses who are dedicated to helping Diabetics. This year we have had a Diabetic Specialist Nurse, Diane L Page, Consultant Dr Roger Lloyd- Mostyn, and Professor George Thornson, who has recently taken over from Dr Fernando. Talking on all aspects of Diabetes and the care we should expect from the professionals. We also arrange social events for the members, which in turn raise funds to keep our group alive. Room rents, assistance with secretarial work all have to be paid for.

A Food Sampling event which was sponsored by Travel Lodge Premier Inns (Table Table) was informative as well as very enjoyable. The Travel Lodge have sponsored the 'Name that Flower Competition' for the Open Garden. A relaxation evening was arranged too. This Open Garden Event today is sponsored by Matchmates Bureau Introduction Service, and is a fund raising event too! The year culminates with an annual dinner celebrating the end of another enjoyable and successful year.
